Can you edit NotebookLM slides in Google Slides?
Yes. Start with an editable PPTX, upload it to Google Drive and open it with Google Slides. You can then update the wording, work with other people and present from your browser.
Start with the editable PPTX
This guide begins after the NotebookLM slides have been converted. If you still have the original export and cannot select its words, follow the PowerPoint editing guide first.
Keep the downloaded PPTX on your computer. You do not need PowerPoint installed to upload it to Google Drive.
Open the converted PowerPoint in Google Slides
- Upload the PPTX to Google Drive.Drag the file into Drive, or choose New → File upload.
- Open it with Google Slides.Right-click the uploaded file and choose Open with → Google Slides.
- Save it as a Google Slides presentation.Choose File → Save as Google Slides so you can collaborate in the browser.
Check the deck after Google Slides imports it
PowerPoint and Google Slides do not always use the same fonts or text measurements. Review the presentation once before inviting other people.
- Fonts: replace any unavailable typeface with a close Google font.
- Line breaks: shorten or resize text that wraps onto an extra line.
- Alignment: check small labels and text boxes near the slide edges.
- Slide order: confirm that every page arrived in the expected position.
Use Google Slides for review and collaboration
Once the deck is saved as a Google Slides presentation, you can share one live version instead of emailing updated files back and forth.
- Comments: ask questions or suggest wording without changing the slide immediately.
- Permissions: choose whether each person can view, comment or edit.
- Version history: see earlier edits and restore a previous version when needed.
- Copies: duplicate the deck before creating a client, class or language-specific version.
Frequently asked questions
How do I upload the PPTX to Google Slides?
Upload the file to Google Drive, right-click it, and choose Open with Google Slides.
Does saving it as Google Slides change the original PPTX?
No. Google Drive creates a separate Google Slides presentation, so the uploaded PowerPoint remains available.
Why did a font change after import?
Google Slides may substitute a font that is not available online. Choose a similar Google font and check the line breaks.
Can other people edit the imported presentation?
Yes. Share the Google Slides version and give each person viewer, commenter or editor access.
Can I download it as PowerPoint again?
Yes. In Google Slides, choose File, Download, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
What if the words are still not selectable?
The original slide image may have been uploaded instead of the editable PPTX. Return to the PowerPoint editing guide and confirm the wording is selectable before importing.
