Terms of Service
Effective August 28, 2026 · Service provider: EditLM
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and EditLM (“EditLM,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and govern your use of the EditLM website, conversion tools, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account, purchasing slides, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into these Terms. You must provide accurate account information, maintain control of your email account and sign-in links, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access. Availability may vary by location, and you may not circumvent applicable eligibility, access, account, payment, or usage restrictions. You are responsible for activity conducted through your account unless caused by our breach of these Terms or applicable law.
2. The Service
EditLM provides tools for converting presentation materials into editable files. Features, supported formats, and usage requirements are described in the Service at the time of use. We may improve, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service, subject to any rights you have under applicable law.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of content you upload (“Your Content”). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, limited license to host, copy, transmit, render, modify, and create technical derivatives of Your Content solely as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and support the Service, comply with law, and enforce these Terms. This license ends when Your Content is deleted from our systems, except to the limited extent that retention is required by law, needed to resolve a dispute, or continues temporarily in service-provider systems under their retention practices.
You represent that you own or have all permissions needed for Your Content and for the processing described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring that Your Content and your use of any output comply with law and do not infringe third-party rights.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to upload, create, process, or distribute content that is unlawful, infringing, deceptive, abusive, or harmful. You may not upload identity documents, payment-card data, medical records, government-classified material, children’s personal information, or other highly sensitive or regulated information. You also may not circumvent access or payment controls; access another person’s account or files; disrupt or overload the Service; use automation to abuse the Service or obtain services fraudulently; or remove watermarks or rights-management information where doing so would violate law or third-party rights.
5. Service providers
We may use service providers to perform functions on our behalf, including content processing, hosting, storage, authentication, communications, and payments. Our handling of personal information and use of service providers are described in the Privacy Policy. Third-party products or websites that you choose to use may be governed by their own terms.
6. Purchases and usage balances
We may offer free usage, paid packages, or other promotional benefits. Current prices, package contents, taxes, payment methods, and applicable usage rules are shown before purchase or use. By completing a purchase, you authorize the amount presented at checkout. Unless otherwise stated, usage balances have no cash value and may not be transferred or resold. Changes to prices or packages apply only prospectively.
7. Refunds and payment disputes
You may request a refund for a purchased package within seven days after purchase if no slides from that package have been used. Email [email protected] with sufficient information to identify the purchase. Refunds are returned through the original payment method where practicable. This policy does not limit any mandatory cancellation, refund, or consumer rights available under applicable law.
A refund, reversal, chargeback, or payment dispute may result in removal of the corresponding unused slides. We may temporarily restrict an account while a payment dispute or suspected fraud is investigated and may suspend it if the related balance cannot be recovered.
8. Files and account deletion
Files and conversion results may be automatically deleted, so you should keep any copies you need. Deleting your account ends access to the Service and initiates deletion of eligible account data. Remaining usage balances are forfeited, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
9. EditLM intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, and materials supplied by us, is owned by EditLM or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, prevent fraud or harm, address a payment dispute, comply with law, or protect users, third parties, or the Service. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to address the issue. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limitations, indemnity, and dispute provisions—will survive.
11. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and all outputs are provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. You are responsible for reviewing outputs and determining whether they are suitable and lawful for your intended use. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, EditLM and its affiliates, personnel, and suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from or related to the Service. Our total liability for all claims arising from or related to the Service will not exceed the greater of US$100 or the amount you paid to EditLM during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusions are prohibited.
13. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless EditLM and its affiliates, personnel, and suppliers from third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from Your Content, your unlawful use of the Service, or your material breach of these Terms. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from EditLM’s own breach, negligence, or willful misconduct.
14. Disputes and general terms
Before filing a formal claim, you and EditLM agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute by written notice and at least 30 days of informal discussion. This does not prevent either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief or using a small-claims process where available. Any unresolved dispute may be brought before a court with jurisdiction under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory rights or remedies available to consumers in their place of residence.
If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement regarding the Service.
15. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, law, or our business. We will post the updated Terms with a new effective date and provide additional notice or request renewed acceptance when required by law or when changes materially affect your rights. Changes apply prospectively. Questions, refund requests, and legal notices may be sent to [email protected].
